Burns Night and Soul Deep

Burns Night and Soul Deep

Robert Burns
I love it when other writers post about their date-specific stories so I can check them out, but I forget to do that for the ones I've written. So I'm raising a glass of fine scotch whisky to that tradition here on Burns Night!

Soul Deep is a prequel short romance set in my Soul Travelers series, and it was an absolute treat to write. A sequel to the first novel Hand Me Downs may very well be appearing this year, too.

Check out Soul Deep for more about Burns Night and a sweet January 25th escape!

Many folks are familiar with a version of Robert Burns’ most famous poem, but I absolutely love the original. Listen to a recording of someone from Scotland reciting this and more of his work for the most wonderful experience.

To the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns!

Auld Lang Syne
by Robert Burns

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne!

For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes,
And pou'd the gowan fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fitt,
Sin' auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin' auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak a right gude-willie-waught,
For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.
